Default Installing 39 coupe windows

It looks like you have to unbolt the regulators, hook the new glass onto them and install as a unit? OR... pivot the regulators on one of the six bolts (which one?), Suggestions?!
...the regulators on 39s are big and have a removable center pivot point.

Bought the glass from Bob's Classic Glass (should have them this week), he called me personally and gave me a few pointers about adjusting the '39 glass. Even suggested adding a 3/16 rod to ride vertically in the channel in front so the window wouldn't twist and jamb in the felt channels, possibly damaging them, I'm going to take that advice.

I don't understand the "rod" theory. 39 Ford coupe's front windows move back before going down in the channel

Put the glass in the door with lower Chanel installed on the glass then put the regulator in the door while holding up the glass and insert the regulator arms in the Chanel then slide the whole thing up to put the screws in.

Ken: Well that makes perfect sense! Thanks!

Jim: I will examine the rod "theory" a little closer before doing it... And thanks for the heads up!

When you put your new glass in the regulator slot, don't skimp on the bedding strip. It makes a world of difference when you get a nice snug fit.....don't ask me how I know!!

Here's the rest of the story! I'm putting 39 style windows in 40 doors. I wasn't aware that 39 windows moved back when you rolled them down, I can adjust the '40 doors to make that work... However, when the glass was cut it seems they thought I might be using the '40 regulators. since the glass I got doesn't seem to fit the '39 channels. it's almost link the '39 glass should be notched on each end to fit the bottom channel... is that correct?

I am also having a very difficult time getting my windows to wind up and down without forcing them a bit. Without the garnish moldings on, I can get them to close with a slight tweak/push/pull on the top of the window.....but have no chance once the garnish molding is on. I am wondering what some others have found with these? We had no problem with doing our square glass on a 30 pick up or on dads 40 coupe. But this 39 with the window moving forward right when it goes to the top has given me grief.
