Default Picture of Zenith 1 Carb with a G

I don't ever recall seeing a "G" over the Zenith name before. Anyone know what it means?
This came from a homemade deer hauler I found in the trees at a garage sale a few years ago.
Motor runs like new.
Thanks

I will look out in the shop at the carb bodies I have to see if i can come up with one like it. Hard to tell from the picture where the inlet is, either in the front or on the hood side like the A carbs, or in the front like B carbs.

The fuel inlet faces the hood side, just like the common Zeniths do.
The front cover has the wide motor mounting flange for the 1928 solid motor mount.

Since Model A engines were used in Gleaner combines, I wonder if the "G" meant the engine or carb was destined for that machine?

All Gleaner combines that utilized a Model A Ford Motor used a Kingston Carb.

Tom,

I have a late Zenith-1 just like yours except the engraved "G" is on the back side of both the upper and lower housings. I also have a late Zenith-1 bowl that has a embossed "E" on the back side and no other markings.

The "G" on the front side may be like the Holley upper housing that only existed for 1 month, the "H" was sideways when the mold was made; the Holley is listed in the Standards; I have a complete restored Holley with the sideway "H".

I guess there are a lot more carb markings than I'd realized. I've just never seen some of them.

I have been trying for a while now to find any one who knows something about this one, the way it is marked with the raised letters..

Your raised Zenith-2 is a Holley made carb, it appears in the Standards, this way you can match the proper upper housing with your lower housing. By the way, your lower housing has a brass removable GAV needle seat.
