Interesting Video about Electrolysis
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKZv14-K71g
I have used this process to do etching in the past on pieces of reproduction medieval armor that I have made. This is the best video on the process I have seen in a long time.

Re: Interesting Video about Electrolysis
Thanks for sharing! I wasn't aware that the process actually convert the surface to magnetite. Or puts a small amount of the metal back. I like it even better now!

Re: Interesting Video about Electrolysis
Is this a method for stripping paint off of body parts? I seem to recall a set up where you used a swimming pool (outside because of hydrogen production), a detergent/water solution, a battery charger, a battery, an anode and cathode, dropped the painted panel in, and came back a few days later and the part was stripped, rustproof, etched, ready for sanding, filling, priming and painting.
Or did I dream this?

Re: Interesting Video about Electrolysis
The molasses didn't remove any paint for me, but the electrolysis removed the paint from my Cub Cadet wheel, as well as all the deep rust inside the rim from someone using calcium cloride inside the tire.
