Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
I love that show, there are lot's of antiques and classics still in someones long lost garage and Wayne does a good show at bringing them back to life, can't wait to see it.

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
I dont get that channel, but know Wayne from his F40 business a few towns over. His father restored model A;s in the 60's, and was considered the best in the area at the time, so Wayne was raised on model A;s, and knows them well.

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
The ads showed a tan '30/'31 Roadster with whitewalls and stuff.
In my opinion, not even close to the "best" Model A... -Tim |

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
In general I dislike reality shows but two I do like is American Pickers and Chasing Classic Cars, Pawn Stars is the same crap every episode. A Fordbarner I know on the Early V8 Forum was "picked" on the Nascar Musuem episode a couple years ago,he told me Mike Wolf and Frank were for real and bought a bunch between and after filming. The episode itself was scripted to feature the musuem. Carini's dad made money on cars as does he,I get a kick out of his one mechanic,Roger? He put a Porsche back together and blessed it with the words "go fourth and pollute". I saw Carini off camera or I should say he did not know he was on camera and was very nice and gracious to people, very unlike a guy I saw years ago at the Street Rod Nats in Columbus,Coddington was the same jerk as he was on TV. One episode on Chassing Classic Cars a couple weeks or so got me wondering, they pulled a classic out of a garage in Cleveland that supposedly was in there for 50 years but it had Ohio Antique car plates on it. Don't think Ohio used antique car plates 50 years ago.

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
I met Wayne at a car show in Ct. this summer. Got my picture taken with him, and 2 of my 3 sons.
I told him I was restoring a Model A, and he seemed genuinely interested. He told me that he started out doing A's with his father. I bet if he had the time, he would have talked to me about the car all day. Super nice guy, and I wish I could have talked to him all day about cars. Tommy- |

Happy Holidays Tommy! You did not mention you met me at the same show, LOL!
Wayne Carini is a good guy and does have "his own collection" But yes he has an extensive client list for his business, a car flipper. You can't nock a working man nowadays and he even has employees in todays rough economy, Connecticut non the less! Don Jr. |

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
We upgraded to AT&T and a new flat screen TV (early Christmas), and can now view and tape Chasing Classic Cars. I've meet Wayne at a few local shows and as others have said he's a very nice guy. if I win Powerball tonight that blue Bentley of his will be mine. Bob

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
Can't stand the Wayne show. Never divulge buy prices, only interested in a quick profit and not that knowledgeable.... of course, my opinion.
There is a similar show with a Canuck and it is excellent- don't know the name, but a real stand up guy. Tells you what he pays and sells for.... doesn't come across as "greedy". |

Re: Classic Cars chases Model A's
I always try to catch Wayne Carini when I can, but sometimes he misses the mark on setting values on the cars he brings to auction. In the past he had a RPU that he
set a reserve of 30K on and he seemed genuinely surprised that it didn't sell. He is a very talented restorer and seems to have his finger on the pulse on really high end cars. I wish I had a fraction of his savvy. Jack
