Default Ebay search help

When I search for model A parts on Ebay, I end up getting tons of hotrod parts sold by a few dealers. They list a lot of new hotrod parts I could give hoot about. Many times, these sellers list the same items multiple times (why, I don't know). The sellers I get the most "junk" listing from are: gearheadworld, rodpartsdealer and fatrodder - hundreds and hundreds of listing form these three sellers - maybe you know others. I have to go through all these hotrod parts looking for parts I might care about. I was searching through eBay to see if I could exclude these sellers. I found out that you can. First you do the search normally where you want to exclude some sellers. Then you just go to the left side of the screen and click on "Specify sellers". That bring up a display where you click on "Specific sellers" button. Now with "Exclude" showing, type in the sellers names you want to exclude, separated by commas in the space to the right of "Exclude". Lastly, save the search so you have it excluding the seller(s) you don't want to see in the future. Maybe some of you Fordbarners know about this already, but I am sure some don't. It really cuts down the "junk listings" a lot. Hope this helps.

I narrow down the search to vintage parts only. Look at the left side of the screen on ebay.

Something that will help is after you type in what you are searching for i.e. Ford Model A add this: -fits ford model a
That will delete a lot of the steering wheel covers, etc.... etc.... etc....

I reported several sellers this morning for listing practices. Should take care of a few hundred car cover and floor mat listings...

I still get a lot of hotrod parts using the "Vintage car and truck parts" selection only.

Thanks Rusty. I had just decided to give up on looking for Model A parts on ebay. I was so sick of looking at car covers and floor mats.

Don't count on anything happening.

eBay is totally nonresponsive to anything that would reduce their sales volumn.

If your willing to put the time in to look through all of the listings, you can get some great deals. Some people list items in the wrong category etc and so you have less competition bidding. My brother bought a 1946 Jeep, running, for $200 because it was listed wrong.

You're right, it worked once before, but they are making money hand over fist, so their effort is little.

What I do is on the left side you can check "used parts" it seems to work good for me.
