Default Help with Trunk Latch Lock

This maybe in the wrong forum.
I bought a metal trunk last week thinking about using it on my 31 Slant Window 160B. Got it home & it is too wide for my rack.

The right lock wouldn't open & I had no key so I took it to the locksmith & had keys made. I can turn the right latch tumbler but it will not unlatch. Looking at the left side not sure how the latch works.
I can't get the left side to close enough for the tumbler to go inside the latch part on the trunk. Tried looking for help on the Web but don't know exactly what kind of trunk I have or what car it was used on. Looks kind of like a 34 Chevy but not sure. There is a curve to the back of the trunk.
Any ideas or help

Looks like a kid to late 30'smtrunk to me. You can th the fedora lounge and see if anyone has an idea there. But a good locksmith should be able to work on it for you.

I got the trunk opened. The label inside the lid is damaged but enough to read. It's a Watts-Morehouse Jackson Michigan trunk. Everything inside the trunk looks good. There is some delaminating of the wood bottom.
The rubber weatherseal was hard & preventing the lid from closing all the way so the latch would not release.
Nothing exciting inside the trunk. It was empty.
