I have the brother to this car. Of all of my Fords, the 38 standard is the nicest to drive. Great steering and ride improvements over the 34's and 36's. No worries about suicide doors blowing open. Great dash for tracking progress. Just a really sound and fun car to motor around in. Enjoy.

Looks to be a beautiful car. I would like to see a few more pictures. I know the younger generation of collector car buyers are liking the foreign stuff. I used to mess with the old toyota landcruisers, and I see prices are now going out of sight. Same for volkswagens, especially the busses. I'll stick with the early V8s thank you. Enjoy that nice 38!

Pete, neat car.

VW's are neat too.

I had "flipped" a pair of 57's last year with two huge trailers of parts. I was simply amazed at the interest and subsequent realized sale prices.
What I thought most interesting was the fact those guys are in to their VW's as much as I am in to my 39 / 40 Fords. Many knew exactly what little "curves" were in an authentic fender vs. a replacement (just an example) as well as how rare some of the accessories I had were.
It was a fun experience for me and I was happy the stuff went to a seemingly good home.

I'd have to vote YES on that one! Nice! (I'm just getting back into things here after a too long winter.)

Pete - If I were given just one choice to pick amongst the Ford coupes of the '30's and 40's, it would be a '38 Standard like the one you have....This for its simplicity, clean lines and no bling....But I'd get rid of the whitewalls.

Very nice car Pete. Personally, I like the standards as much, if not more, than the deluxe models. I think they have a more unique personality. Maybe that explains why I own three standard model early Fords, but no nice looking 38 coupes like yours. Someone mentioned they would like to see more pictures, and I agree, lets see 'em. Welcome back to the Fordbarn.

John,
Your AV8 looks great. I am sure it was a fun project and I am sure with your attention to detail
It was done right. I am hauling my AV8 North and I will be bringing my new project the 38 coupe South after going through it this summer .
Best regards,
Pete
