Default Emergency brake handle

My emergency brake stopped locking into place. I did have it adjusted so when I pull it back 3 clicks it locked well. Never had a problem it worked fine. Out of the blue it won’t catch. I took a look and the ratchet and paw is worn.
The reason I’m telling you this is I been replacing ratchets and paws about every 5 years!! It’s my third time. When I set the brakes I don’t drag the paw. What the.....! Is anyone else having any problems with the materials they are using?

I've never had to change those parts, and I've had my car for 23 years now. Maybe try changing the vendor you are buying them from? They might use a different supplier. You might also try heat treating them to harden the parts. Heat to cherry red and quench them quickly in oil. If the steel has enough carbon, this will harden it.
