Default some questions about 68B cabriolet

My dad want to finish to paint and to assemble his early 1930 convertible cabriolet. (help needed...)

_ He don't know which color (dark or light) to paint the cowl door post and the inside top cowl around the windshield.
_ the window door garnish were red with a little bit of black. Windshield garnish are dark body color. Original ?
_ some little parts seem to be missing :
. something fixed on the door wood, between the glass and the outside door molding. Upper door seal ?
. the parts where window slides. Felt or steel ?

Thank you for your help.

my answers are based on having a 68A, not a 68B; but the bodies are in many ways the same from the back of the cowl on back, as I understand it.

_ the window door garnish were red with a little bit of black. Maybe faded or worn Mahogany graining?

- something fixed on the door wood, between the glass and the outside door molding. Upper door seal ? Yes

-the parts where window slides. Felt or steel ? Both, well not steel. A short piece of felt channel at the back edge of the window frame. ...and a long strip of nickel plated, stamped/formed brass at the front of the window frame

Here are a ton of great pictures of correct restorations of 68Bs

You're probably talking about this for the "rear felt channel"
http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/ca...lace-retainers

There is no door top on a cabriolet, so no Upper door seal.

Go to this link for parts available for cabriolet: You may be missing the specialized rubbers that go between the folding top behind the door window and the body on pg 3 for example...

Upper door seal may be from Snyders or Brattons, I don't recall, maybe same as for four door sedan. The rear felt may be harder to find. I would call the Cabriolet Club 936-441-8209, Larry, though he is not making/supplying many parts anymore, he may give you a lead. Consider joining the club. Some of the back issues have good info otherwise unavailable.

Get a copy of the Model Paint Guide. There are tables in the guide that tell you what colors the various parts of the car are painted. Ed
