The Blue Ridge Parkway announced today that the section between Mount Mitchell and Craggy Gardens (just north of Asheville) will reopen on May 4. The catch is that only one lane will be open, with road construction on going, causing some delays. This should be really good news for those on the tour as they will not have to do a 60 to 70 mile detour around the closure.

Thats good news. It got to be a real PITA because of the detours, seemed as though as were more detour miles than parkway miles. We stopped taking the BRP back home because of that, maybe we'll start using it again.
