Exclamation Q: 1934 Ford Pinstrping stencil body line

I have been looking at the pinstriping stencils for my 34 Ford coupe produced by Finesse. The only one that seems to be available is the FINESSE F-22.
However as Sheldon pointed out to me its not the correct width and spacing.
According to the book the 2 outside stripes are 1/32" and the middle 3/32" with 1/16 " space between outside and middle stripe.
The one available from FINESSE IS NARROWER!
Anybody know where to get the correct size Pinstriping stencil from?
Dont have a good Pinstriper artisan in Cape Town!!!
Any help or ideas are welcome.
Regards Randolf

Big difference between the 'touted' F-7 size and the book size.

I have taped my pin stripes in the past with GREAT results. As you probably realize, there is tape made specifically for this purpose.
The truck depicted was done with tape.

Just to be clear, the stripes are painted. The tape I refer to is a very high quality tape designed for this particular purpose. It doesn't allow "bleed" and offers a very sharp line. Also, it removes nicely.

Kube, very nice Pick Up and awsome striping. The thing that worries me with tape is that the spacing will be quite difficult to accomplish, especially with the 34 design. I would imagine a stencil to be applied more easily and more accurate with regards to spacing. I might be wrong and it seems there is no correct stencil available. In that case i will have to use tape as mentioned by petehoovie. Pity youre not around the corner Kube!!

There are still pin stripe painters out there who do it as was done in 1934, freehand.

I wonder if there are motorcycle or hotrod enthusiasts in the area? They usually have pinstripers circulating nearby.

I fail to appreciate taping a pinstripe. If it were me that couldn’t find a striper, I would take great pride in learning to stripe my own car as it was done originally. The brushes and paint are available, as are instructions, and lots of junk cars to practice on. look at how long it took to restore your car, wouldn’t another couple weeks to learn the skill be worthwhile for the big smile it would put on your face?

Alan, Seriously, you think all it takes is a couple of weeks practice? Well, perhaps, but I believe it takes some innate talent, a VERY steady hand and very good hand / eye coordination.
If it took just two weeks to tackle this properly, I would think good stripers would be easily accessed.

My late friend who striped my avatar roadster could do what I believe no amount of practice could reproduce. As Kube said a large amount of innate talent is involved. I could practice for 25 years and NEVER be able to say, play a guitar solo like Eric Clapton's on Crossroads. While watching Dick stripe my car, he would stop to put more paint on his brush and then overlap by at least 16 inches a 1/16th line where he left off. It didn't matter where he would stop to add more paint. It could be on a curve or in a difficult spot to get at. The people who do this well are true artists.

I agree. For the last 50 yrs I have had my cars stripped. In SoCal its easy to find a striper. Here in France is another story.I found stripers that do motorcycle fenders and tanks BUT to pull a 8' to 10' straight line even with a guide -they would not even attempt it.All my cars were done by Dennis Ricklifs in SoCal.He's done most of Chip Foose cars on Overhaulin. He was and is so good he could lay a 3/16" line and then another after it dried in the middle of that line.$30 and a case of beer back then in 1968.
