30-31 door check for a 28-29 Tudor
Does anyone have any instructions, or a website to visit, for installing a 30-31 type 'door check' on a 29 Tudor? The original 'door strap' is forever coming loose, and takes up a bit of the limited floorspace....
Thanks |

Not so sure this is the best thought. There is a couple of brackets that would need to be welded to the door jamb to pin the check arm to the door. Then a large hole would need to be cut into the cowl pillar post. There is a reinforcing bracket that will weld onto the inside of the of the pillar to reinforce that area. Additionally there will be a rubber that attaches to a plate for the strap bumper to pull against.
If you are not swinging the door open with great force, then maybe make some vinyl door check straps that would be softer than the rubber pieces yet flexible to collapse when your leg pushes against it. |
