Default 1932 Ford rumble lid

Can you convert a 1932 Ford 3 window with a rumble seat to a trunk only model by reversing the lid thereby becoming a bottom opening trunk model ? If not is it possible to purchase a trunk and hinge setup from Brookville and will it fit the original 3 window body , I don't like rumble seats !

The lid orientation does not change (the top stays the top, bottom the bottom). You may need to cut holes and slots for the outside handle style trunk latch and handle, drill and install nut inserts for the prop, and fabricate and install the bearings for the hinge in the upper corners of the lid.

Brookvilles panels are usually close and way better then rusted out original junk, but are not perfect. Plan on some TLC to get the inner to fit perfectly, then fit and install the outer yourself.

The hinges are pins and reinforcing plates and common with standard roadsters and standard coupes without rumble seats and are available in reproduction form, including from Brookville. Likely they also make the addition to the lower back panel/floor that you will need to serve as the base for the trunk lid latch and rubber lid stop bumpers.

Nothing says you have to put the seat in your trunk. You could leave out (or remove) the seat springs and riser, leaving you with a top-opening trunk.
