Default 1937 Taillight Bracket Reproductions

Drake has apparently discontinued their nice die cast ones so I decided to give a try in sand cast aluminum.

Using an original bracket I thickness compensated and made core prints for the inside end detail and inside walls.

I then cast a mold using a pourable urethane.

The pattern board is wood with pourable urethane pattern and core prints.

The core box is pourable urethane with wood framing.

Shown is the first run of the left side as cast along with an original. Drilling and tapping is yet to be done as is the pattern for the right side.

This is the one that fits coupes, sedans and cabriolets. There is a different one that fits phaeton and convertible sedan, if you need those All Ford Parts in Campbell Ca said "I have a lot of those NOS".

Lots if skill required in reproducing these Cast Tail Light Stands for 1937 Fords. You are a true craftsman.
Just for general interest, Ford Australia did not use these Stands on Australian built 1937 Fords. Instead, they used carry over 1935/1936 Tail Light Bodies and Lens mounted on a unique Tail Light Stand. Refer to above pictures. Just for the record, the owner of the 37 Club Coupe parked in front of this 37 Touring Sedan has changed his Tail Lights to the USA Style. These two 37 Fords are owned by father and son. Father owns the Club Coupe and son the Sedan.
