1941 Special Deluxe club coupe
What seats can be used in these? Original ( I think) seats are in it, but there is absolutely no leg room in the back seat. Is this how they were? Just purchased it, and finding things I need to fix...

Re: 1941 Special Deluxe club coupe
The club coupe also known as the short door coupe had no seats or foldable jump seats. The sedan coupe aka long door coupe have a full bench seat and could hold 6 passengers.

Re: 1941 Special Deluxe club coupe
My '41 short door coupe has a Camaro back seat in it. Unless the front seat is moved way forward, it is a bit of a squeeze to get into past the front seat back, folded forward. But legroom is decent. Fine for young folks.

1941 Ford Coupes, as illustrated in the original Sales Brochure. Notice that the "long" door model is called Sedan Coupe, not Club Coupe. |

Re: 1941 Special Deluxe club coupe
Also notice how much prettier the lines of the short door coupe are. Not that I am prejudiced. I also think the early model year '41, without the chrome mustache, are prettier than the late model year. IMHO

Re: 1941 Special Deluxe club coupe
I don't think Ford referred to them as a club coupe. The addition of Special, Deluxe, and Super Deluxe trim levels were new to 1941 so the Business Coupe name was dropped. They were referred to as the business coupe in earlier years but folks added the club moniker if it had the jump seats in the back. The Sedan Coupe was all new for 1941 and the model carried all the way up through 1948. I think the Club term was used for convertible cars since they had seats behind the front seat.

1941 Ford Super DeLuxe Convertible Club Coupe. As rotorwrench correctly mentioned, only the Convertible retained the "Club" name for 1941. Check out this illustration from the original Sales Brochure. |
