1941 Ford Hood Hinge Cowl Bushings
When I removed the Hood on my 1941 Ford 1/2 Ton Pickup, I noticed the holes for hood hinge mounts were quite a bit larger than the bolt diameter. One hole in the cowl is what appears to be a metal tube / bushing ( same size as bolt diameter) that is encased in rubber to fit in the larger diameter holes in the cowl.
I’m in need of replacing those bushings and would very much appreciate any vendor information so that I can order them. Thank you for your help in solving another mystery! Frank |

The rubber is no doubt what remains of the old gasket.
There were no bushings in that area originally. Most likely, the holes in the cowl were opened up to allow for a bit more adjustment of the hinges / hood.

Thank you Kube for responding. I’ll try to take a picture of what I’m seeing and maybe that will shed some light on this mystery. Who knows what’s been added of unknown origin on these old trucks over the years.

Re: 1941 Ford Hood Hinge Cowl Bushings
I’ve attached the pictures of one of the holes for mounting the hood hinges. First picture is from the exterior where this rubber / bushing type object is located somewhat off center. The second picture is from the interior side showing what appears to be a washer partially covering the rubber surrounding the metal bushing. I don’t know if this was something that someone over the years added to effect the fit of the hood. I’m new to this vehicle and I thought all of the mount holes should have these rubber / metal bushings.
Thank you for your expertise & response. Frank |

Kube I’ll give a try to see if I can remove this as an assembly. Thank you!
