Outer cover for universal joint
Having trouble replacing the upper half of outer cover on 28 tudor universal joint. Guard on top hits the cross frame member. Any ideas?

Re: Outer cover for universal joint
Maybe you have a problem with the frame sagging or the front or rear motor mounts. Last year I installed my 28 U joint cover with the tab on the top half and it cleared the middle crossmember by about 3/16", give of take 1/16". I would suspect that maybe the front motor mount maybe too high, causing the U joint cover to be too low. Does the front crank hole cover correctly line up with the crankshaft ratchet nut?

Re: Outer cover for universal joint
The front motor mount (not original style) is being replaced. This will lower the U joint .
However I still have slight misalignment with the top cover "arm" and the frame cross member. Does this arm piece go above or below the cross member? I appreciate your interest. CH |
