Default new vs old repro roadster windshield frame

I could use or I guess my '31 roadster could use a better windshield frame. It is a deluxe and I see that vendors sell a nice chrome one, some like Brattons are already drilled and tapped some like Macs are not.Yet others show up as a used repro probably from the sixties on and I wonder if they are better quality? Most I have seen do show some surface rust but I again wonder if they are constructed better than mayby a new foreign made one?

Not sure about your neck of the woods but they were not available here till relatively recent times. Maybe reproduced by Brookville. In the 70's due to the number of open cars here local people were making them from brass.
