Wins with the 999 car were what got Henry's name in the public eye of Detroit and the motor world. His actual racing career was pretty short but it served its purpose.

Was this with the car he named "Princess"? (If I'm remembering correctly) He used the winnings from that race to start one of his companies (I don't remember which one-it took him three tries). Then of course there was 999 which he drove (on a frozen lake near Detroit) to set that land speed record. A few years later he had a Model N with a one-off six cylinder engine (basically a Model N with two more cylinders grafted on) that he street raced around the Detroit area. According to a newspaper clipping from the day, he enjoyed picking races with the big fancy cars of the day and blowing them off with his little Ford runabout! The car still exists and is in running condition. Both the newspaper clipping and pictures of the car have been shown here on the Barn.
