The A-3281 Spindle connecting rod tube assembly
When did the A-3281 Spindle Connection Rod Tube Assembly "Tie Rod" change from a hollow "welded" tube (welded the length of the tube except for the threaded ends) to the solid type?
Yes I know...check with the archives...well they are not open till about May 1, 2020. Maybe they were all solid rods...I do not know...Never cut one up. Thanks. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 04-18-2020 at 08:19 AM. |

I thought they were all hollow like the radius rods.

Re: The A-3281 Spindle connecting rod tube assembly
Parts book says: A-3281 Spindle connecting rod tube 1928-31 $1.25
For the AA it says: AA-3281 Spindle connecting rod tube 1928-31 $2.25 Maybe the AA one is solid? It cost more.

I guess what my original concern was is that the earlier "tubes" had a "weld" the length of the tube itself except for the threaded ends where the later tubes do not WHICH led me to think the later ones were solid but I guess they are not??? Don't have a junker one to cut open. Pluck |
