Front Axle Tollerances
On a good front axle...What is the measurement, diameter wise, of the holes where the King Pin is inserted to?
Thanks. Pluck |

Re: Front Axle Tollerances
I can't answer that question directly other than to suggest you measure a new King Pin and allow about the same clearance as for a gudgeon pin (0.0002") Many axles have been wrecked by people over tightening the cotter pin that holds the king pin. That stretches the eye and the symptoms are the same as worn bushes. They can be repaired. I've had bent axles with stretched eyes straightened and resized on a couple of occasions with no problems.

Re: Front Axle Tollerances
Hi Steve. I do not have a drawing of the axle, but my best guess is that the axle hole diameter is consistent with a spindle bolt bushing reamer size that is 0.814" diameter.
