Default Naw dist. body

I recived my new distributor body today from Snyders, I ordered the one with the steel inserted type [the 4 pin's for ea. cly], I noticed that the pins had grease on ea. pin. I cleaned it off , Was the grease on their for shipment only, or to keep the steel pins from rusting ?
Should I put some lub. back on them, or leave them alone .
Thank's for any advice.

That's New dist. body, not Naw, Sorry.

Originally they were Cadmium plated. Left alone, the gerase will likely keep corrosion at bay for a length of time. If you want to remove the grease and apply a drop or two of flat silver paint to each terminal, you will get the best of both worlds where it looks aesthetically correct and remains servicable. When you install the spark plug wire, just ensure it make a good connection by rubbing it against the terminal.

Brent- He may have meant the pins on the inside of the body...I just received the same one from Snyder's and it had grease on the contacts. I just wiped it off.

Yes I meant the pin's on the inside of the body, I also wipe'd it off, But I started thinking that the grease might have been their to prevent rust from starting, Would a light coat of lub. effect the spark ? or should the grease be removed ?
Could the grease have been their for shipment only ? . Thank's.
