Mystery Part What is it?
Anyone know what this is? We found it in a Club Members collection we were cleaning out. Hope the picture comes through.
Looks like it clamps on to a narrow member. It may not be a Model A part. Only one picture came through. I'll try again. The other pictures fail the upload????? Last edited by Jacksonlll; 01-06-2021 at 01:16 PM. Reason: Add pictures |

What's on the end we can't see? There was something years ago that clamped on the
front axle and the end of the part we can't see pushed against the tie rod, suppose to stop front end shimmy. |

The clamp with the nut and bold clamps on the axle.On the ends of those springs the wire is formed into U-shapes.Those ride on the tie rod,and slide back and forth on it.The two springs actually cross each other when mounted in place.

Ford Model T or A anti shimmy device . Mounted to front axle, springs put tension on tie rod.

There is a small picture of the "Shimmy Stop" on page 160 in "Those Wonderful Unauthorized Accessories for the Model A Ford" Book.
