Default Missing Wire

I think I need some help here. I think I am missing a wire on the distributor see picture... I took a look at other motor pics on line and they all had a wire from the distributor to the junction box on the fire wall...
Did all model A's have this wire??
Thanks

Looks like the condenser(arrow) is missing or you have a modern type on the upper plate. You do need to supply voltage to the points and your picture doesn't show that.

There are two openings in the base of the distributor, one for the condenser and one for the armored ignition wire. Also your distributor is 180 degrees out!

There are 3 openings, one for the armored cable, one for the condenser and, the one for the condenser screw (arrow). The distributor is not out 180.

Yes. I believe your missing wire completes the circuit for the ignition system.

Based on the diagram I posted, it looks like you're missing the armored cable running between the dizzy and your ignition key... rather important fellow there.

Actually the arrow is pointing to the screw access for the condenser. The hole on the right of the dizzy strap is for the armored cable.

Mine is an aftermarket replacement, but you can get the idea.

The other end connects to the ignition switch as shown in the diagram.

It routes power through the points. It is necessary...
