Default Finally found a 34 Roadster

Thank you so much to Steve C in SoCal, yeah the guy with the Jersey accent, to call me and tell me about this 34 Roadster that was for sale. I’ve been looking for so long, Now I finally got one to keep and it’s a really really great car.

My two year old granddaughter Cleo pretty much is the only one in the family that gets it. She comes over every time and says I want to see grandpa‘s car grandpa‘s car! Helps me work on the detailing with the microfiber cloth, make sure the horn works, and that it is in neutral, wiper motor working, and anything else she can get her hands on.

Car was a 2009 AACA Senior winner so I will be calling into them to get more information, I believe it came out of Arizona and it was restored at that time. Drives like day one out of the factory, super detailed inside and out. Have some tinkering to do here and there, but mainly just drive it.

Put your clubs in the rumble seat and head over to Pebble Beach, that will turn some heads when you roll in!
Very nice car.

This is definitely a bittersweet moment for Cleo and I. John Jr. got a job at the US Embassy in Tunisia, and they leave for two years on the 22nd. BUT, I have a Hot Wheels of a ‘34 Coupe and Roadster to put in her suitcase.

Please pile on with Granddaughter stories here…

Digger, I know just where your at. I wanted a 55 T bird since I was in grade school. On my 57th birthday I decided it was time and a few months later was driving mine home from Arkansas to Olympia. My two year old grandson spent so many hours in it cruising the shop while I tinkered that we came to call the bird the playpen. I hope you have as many fond memories of your 34 as I do of my bird. It's a beautiful car. And thank your son for his service. Tim.

Lucky you Digger. I love ’34 roadsters and have owned two of them. I was born in 1934 and that adds to my love of them. I bought the first one in 1954 and sold it after I got out of the army in 1959. I got married then and needed the money. I bought the second one in 1996 and still own it.

Some photos from last night driving through pebble Beach, this car is like a day it was made, drives like butter, although I was unable to re-buy one from Rhett’s collection, I’m glad I ran into this one, and a photo of prepping to drive to our local cars and coffee this morning with the three window
