Default 30-31 roadster body

Painting a roadster body Bronson yellow. Is the underside of the body floor panels and the body sub frame rails painted yellow or are they painted black like the main frame?

The underside of the body is painted body color including the sub rails.

Cars with a light body color would have the color show through the wheels which led to complaints at the dealerships. The darker colored bodies were not as noticeable so I don't know if they were painted black at Ford or not but dealerships were doing it for owners that complained in the early model A cars. Only the wheel well area was painted black on such body colors and this could have been done before the fenders were installed if Ford did it.

Hello, Ford didn’t waste much paint on the underneath of the bodies, mixtures of bare metal, red primer and body color overspray. In the interest of perseveration judging standards allows for black or body color on underneath. The wood pieces were done in a dull black finish. The upper sills and floor panels would have a coat of the lower body color along with the inner doors areas .
