Default Brake Light Switch

Does anybody know if a 30-31 brake light switch can be made to work on a 29?

My 29 had a 30-31 style brake switch installed.

They went through the trouble of cutting holes in the frame crossmember to mount the switch and altering the pedal to cross shaft rod so it would work like a 30-31 style.

I suppose they used what they had but I removed it and installed an original type repop switch.

If you switch to the 30-31 style switch buy the more expensive "quality" switch. The cheap ones are junk.

The 28/29 switch is generally more reliable than the later type.

Getting the better quality later one is problematic. I ordered one and they are on back order so have had to buy one of the cheaper ones. Fingers crossed....
