Installing Body Wood in 1926/27 Roadster
I've been searching off-and-on for a while to find some info on how to best install the new wood on my roadster.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Brent |

Is it nailed or screwed?

Re: Installing Body Wood in 1926/27 Roadster
Stove bolts and square nuts on the sheet metal mounted wood. The uprights to the tack strip are stove bolts countersunk in the tack strip. The lower tack wood pieces and the seat stringer are stove bolts too to the body metal.
Only wood screws are in the underside body to frame blocks, and the tack strip wood in the cowl and door frames. Never any nails in the Improved Open cars, and the wood is very limited in these all metal bodies. |
