Default Mouse smell

I have an old heater box and core that were home to varments for years. I remember somewhere i read about a concoction of things to soak the parts in, seems to me it had vineger and some other things in it. Does anyone have the recipe for the secret sauce?

Ozone generator clears most odors. I use one in my rentals when someone moves. Be careful as ozone will kill plants, pets and people!

Only thing it won't work on is mothball smell. I bought a car that had mothballs in it for years. The cloth interior was extremely nice and I didn't want to replace it. Unfortunately the previous owner had put newspapers and loads of mothballs on the seats. Ozone machine took the odor at first but after a few days it came back. Ending up just selling the car, I did not have the heart to replace the original interior.

Years ago I was trying to find the source of the mouse urine smell in my barn find 39 Ford. The interior materials were in rough shape so I pulled seat, the side panels, headliner, and anything else like that from the inside of the car. The stink was still there! I quickly figured out (well my nose did) that it was originating from the cardboard glove box. I’d removed the old mouse nest but the little buggers had peed into the cardboard over the years. The removal of the old box finally eliminated the odor from the car.

I hate them mices to pieces sold a perfect 37 truck because the mieces pee'd in the factory headliner enough to rot out the windshield header. Just wasn't the same after that. Under the headliner was cotton batting from thje ruined seat,,,,,Had an employee with a dog... Guy kept dogfood in a con tainer . Vermin ate through container. Vermin stored their food in the amazing cardboard headliner all ford original. Godammed things peed through it all, Sometimes its thge straw that breaks the camel's back

The worst part is mice use scent to find a safe place. They follow piss and feces as a trail to a safe trail.

Had some leftover bear bait from my brother near my 36 this winter. Didn't put some of the dog food in closed barrels. Chippies stuffed my exhaust with dog food and my only interior component the seat suffered some mice smell. Well the seat is the only interior I have and after probing and cutting the pipe at the muffler. I have a 36 that sounds like a stock car and a seat that needs some air. Jalopy life I guess. Next winter the bait goes outside.

Reason I keep my 38 truck in a controlled environment.

Bleach will work well.
