Default New member Hello

I’m a new member of this forum. I bought a barn find ‘29 pickup a few years ago, last licensed in ‘55 and parked inside in ‘61 and am now ready to get it running again.
I’m not the most computer literate person but willing to learn what I have to get some pics posted.
I have the A fever bad nowadays. I also like to hunt arrowheads. I’m live close to lake Mac. in the Ne panhandle.
So, Hello everybody and have a great weekend..

Well hello there Fat
Welcome to the Barn, you can post after you get some more posts in, so ask all the questions you like, the guys on here really know their stuff.
And don't get in a rush, take your time, do it right and you will be enjoying that baby for years to come.
Took me four months to get mine running and another month before I drove it around the block.
Tell us what you've done so far and we can let you know if anything else needs checked/done before starting, not all that hard, these cars want to run.
As for the "A fever" remember...MMO is your friend

And no, I'm not crazy...I don't care what the voices say, or the authorities, or that damn doctor and his nutty invisible dog

Hi Fat. The way you describe yourself is exactly how I started. Not terribly computer literate and couldn’t spell and still can’t. Thank goodness for spell check. Not good at telling stories either but have since learned. Writing them is easier because one has time to compose and correct grammar.
This is your opportunity to learn and expand. Give it a go. You can even entertain readers about stories unrelated to the Model A. I look forward to reading your future contributions. Cheers, gary. The picture is of me, not you. There is hope for us all.

Russel Reay, thanks for the help.
These are pic I bought it from. I still can’t look at without getting all warm a fuzzy. I have a rule about a belly laugh every day and this machine takes me half way there. The tires came apart loading and unloading on my trailer, plus moving in my building, 50 by 140 and full of stuff, a couple of times. I bought in ‘17 but had a couple of projects to finish before I tear into and I didn’t want to string parts all over the county and 5 years later wonder what happened to them.
The first thing I want to do is put new 21” tires on so I can move to my garage by my house and make that my A barn. I have used TSP on tractor fuel tanks before and thought that and washing the caked on stuff off would be next.
My mind gets to racing when I think about it all, that’s why I believe this forum will help me stay focused and keep everything in order.

Welcome to the Barn from the other end of the state. I get out your way once in a while when fishing trout in the canal between Big Mac and Paxton.
If you ever roll through Lincoln your welcome to stop by.

Woofa, I’m making my way threw your stories. I have had 2 close person friends that were ag pilots and I worked as a tender for 10 years. Both have passed now from too many cigarettes. I will add there stories in time. I have also been in 2 small plane crash landings.
My uncle had a bonanza V tail that he belly landed because a landing gear would come down, I was3-4 years old and don’t remember any of it.
In the early 90s was the gunner in a cub, with guy I tended for and we were shooting coyotes in the Ne Sandhills. I was in the back and sitting on a knee and hanging out the window over Ron piloting. I shot a hole in the prop. In the split second it took him to shut down the engine and land, I thought the plane was going to tear apart. I witnessed him belly flopping and ag tractor when it lost a cylinder at the end of run and he was pulling up to make a turn around. He lived but didn’t fly anymore after that..

Welcome. Nice truck. Remember we are here to help. Join a local club as they are a great resource too.
