Default plating finishes: interior handles

I'm having handles for an early '31 plated nickel-butler finish. Plater noted it as nickel-brushed. I'm assuming (hoping) we are both talking about the same thing(?). 'Chrome brushed butler' also mentioned as an option. My understanding is the butler refers mostly to the dull appearance when the process is completed. Difficulty visualizing the chrome brushed butler.

The brushed finish has small lines/ scratches? like you see with stainless on facets .

It sounds like your plater knows what he is doing!

Brubaker, where did you find a plater in NorCal? I thought they had all fled the state.

The absence of 'butler' terminology from the plater made me stop and think. Too much invested to make a mistake at this point. Plater is on top of it (thanks for the reply Big Hammer).
Not sure on the plating shop(Dave in Petaluma). My pot metal guy in Vacaville (James, although he actually goes by Brian) dropped them off at a shop he uses all the time. I'll find out which shop and post. Funny, I was X-mas shopping in Petaluma earlier this evening. Small world!

To me, butler looks like it’s been rubbed down with scotchbrite
