Default 39 coupe curling rear window seal

The rear window seals in my 39 deluxe coupe each has a small curl in each seal. It's got no better and no worse in the 2 years I've had the coupe. Is there any advisable adhesive i could put a small amount under the seal to flatten it out. I'd like to keep those seals in place but if I need to change them I will . one more question ...is there any particular spot the molded mark on the seal has to be ? Thanks

Any chance of your posting a photo? I installed DRAKE one piece rear window seals about 40 years ago and they are still laying flat. Were your seals one piece or did you have to cut them to length? Do you have the correct lip facing up?

Here's a thread worth reading about 40 coupe rear window seals.

Yes they are a one piece seal fordy. i'll try and get a pic later on. i have no idea how long they have been in the car like that. were like that when i bought the car 2 years ago. also i had read that post you sent a couple of times. i'm hesitant now of buying new seals or else i"d order them and be done with it. thanks

Your existing seals are probably Carpenter brand seals. As built they are too long & curl after installation.
Buy Drake seals, they will fit correctly.

I have the same issue in my 39 std coupe and I think it came from Carpenter.
