Default Coupe Car Cover

Was wondering if there are any reasonably priced (< $ 100) weather proof car covers available for a 30 coupe ?

Since I only have a single car garage and the local friendly squirrels did $1800 damage to my 2012 Honda Civic - eating the wiring harnesses etc -
the Honda gets the garage now and the coupe will be residing outside now in my backyard.

Any recommendations for a cover ?
Would a pick up truck cover available at car stores work ?

Thanks

Well the good news is if the snakes get in you won't have mice to eat your wiring

A used enclosed trailer can substitute for a garage.

Many is the car ruined by leaving it under a weather proof cover. To be weather proof, they are obviously water proof. Many of those covers do not "breathe", thus causing condensation to build up underneath and the air under there is kept very humid causing the car to rust away before your eyes. If you value your car, don't put it under one of those covers.
I have ample garage space and allowed a friend to keep one of his cars in one. Maybe you can find someone who can give or rent you a parking spot. Years ago, I ran an advert in the local paper asking for a garage to rent. I received about 5 or 6 replies. Garages belonging to older folk who no longer drive is a good place to start. Just another idea for you.

The cover is for weather protection only - I've never had problems with squirrels and the 'A' -not much edible there.

Load your car up with dryer sheets. the rodents hate the smell of the dryer sheets. (squirrels=long tail rats )and mice included.

I would find a friend that might have some extra room for your coupe.

I think Bruce has the best answer for a quick solution. Otherwise you should add on to the garage, or build a seperate one. I have one of my cars in the fabric RoundTop shelter. It's good for the weather, but I keep lots of mothballs in the car to keep the rodents out.

I've been trying to trap squirrels and rabbits in the back yard, and so far I got rid of 5 rabbits and 2 red squirrels, but there are still 2 rabbits I haven't trapped. Last week I saw a hawk in my backyard, and today I see a bunch of rabbit fur in the grass. One more rabbit to go.

BTW, for only about $50 you can buy a pretty fair car cover for the nights you want to keep rain off the car. Ebay search for "10 layer car cover", or "7 layer car cover" or "autoarmor car cover". It's a place in Texas, and I bought 4 covers for my cars.

I bought the medium size trap from H/F and have used banana peels and apple cores for bait. I'm sure many know a lot more than I do about trapping them though. The 2 red squirrels are all I caught after 5 years of trying. Bullets work better, but the city frowns on that. Ever notice how the second you touch the door handle to go outside the squirrels run to the back side of the trees, so you can't see them. Years ago someone told me to throw your jacket on the far side of the tree and the squirrel will come to your side. I never tried it yet though.

V for Victor --good old wooden rat traps will take out a small squirrel or chipmunks. If you have really larger squirrels or just rabbits try these:

Tom I like the bait. An older friend ( 94 ) told me how to trap the damn chipmunks. After he explained I asked what to use for bait. He said peanut butter was the best, not the kind in the jar he said, they like the peanut butter you get with your breakfast in the coffee shop ( lol ) much better. He obviously knows how to catch rodents and save money. BWayne
