Default Kudos to Deuce_Roadster

Been a few months since I’ve posted.

I’ve been enjoying my ‘37 Model 79 since I got it back on the road last spring.

But a couple weeks ago I went out to start the old gal after sitting for a month or so…and lots of spinning over, but she wouldn’t start.

When I first started into this project, member Deuce_Roadster (Mike) offered to set up my distributor on his Sun distributor machine. I gratefully took him
up on his offer and the truck always started with just a bump of the button after that.

After checking a few things I narrowed my no start condition to no spark. So I called Mike and asked him a few questions. He once again generously offered to take a look at my distributor.

After a quick check, he determined one set of points was sticking open. He replaced the problematic parts, installed a new condenser and I left a happy camper.

Put everything back together and it fired right up!

It’s guys like Mike that bring their expertise and willingness to share knowledge and experience with others that make this all worthwhile!

Thanks Mike! Truly!

See you at Monroe!

Yeah, Mike does know SOME stuff! And he shares pretty good, too.

Mike is a super nice guy, very smart and has a really nice and varied collection of old Fords. Don, my wife's sister lives in Sequim and her son lives in Shelton. We did a Puget Sound loop two months ago and came through Hoodsport and I thought about you and the 37. I will give you Penninsula guys a heads up next trip. Then I can do something 'I' want to do. Hey, would be great to meet up with you, Buck, Mike and other barners at Monroe.

I must agree with all of those that believe (rightfully) Mike is a great guy. He's been very helpful to me on a number of occasions.

Hey, thanks guys! I believe the purpose of this forum is to help each other keep these cars and trucks on the road. It is a good feeling to have helped someone.

Exactly, but it sounds like you're going above and beyond! Well done sir!

I see OldGold360 is another Washington State member. This year at the Monroe Swap Meet in May, I will put a sign up for Ford Barn members to check in! My Stalls are area 606 stalls 73,74 75. I will be outside building 606 at one end (my usual spaces).
