1939 ford deluxe shackle pin

This might sound like a crazy question but does anyone know if a pin from the front shackle kit (48-5304) will work in the front spring perch? The part that the ford book calls for is 40-5464 but when I look to buy them the places selling them say they only fit 32-34. It does seem the pin from the the front spring shackle kit is a little longer. Unsure where to go from here.

As always any advice is greatly appreciated!

The part numbers you have should be correct for 1935-40. As you said 40- is for 1933-34.

48-5304 is not a Ford part number. 40-5464 is 32-34, 48-5464 is what you want, the body of the shackle is 2" long and 0.75 Diameter.

48-5304 is correct for 35-41 front shackle pins.Just checked C&G 's website.$26,95 and in stock

48-5304-A and 48-5304-B are front spring shackle kits 1935-40
page 173 in the green book.

Bob C: Yes you are correct it is the Ford part number for the complete kit Which was offered for sale after 1941 but not in 1939. The -A is the steel bushing type Kit and the -B is the rubber type kit. The rubber type shackles were not used in Ford production prior to 1941.

Just a word of caution when looking in suppliers catalogs. Sometimes aftermarket suppliers will make up their own part numbers for their products the numbers often appear like Ford part numbers.
