Question Mike's Affordable New Intake Manifold

A few weeks ago I received an e-mail from Mike's promoting his new repro intake manifold. It is not inexpensive. His claims are better mileage and performance. Does anyone have experience with an original manifold of this design? What phenomena are the claims based on? There may be a patent application that covers this. If so, does anyone know what it is? I want to get some background before I approach Mike. Thanks.

Questions came up on these last year. Here is a link.

I don't know if it helps anything. A person would have to try it and find out. I'd be skeptical to a degree whether it would improve mileage or performance but it likely wouldn't hurt it. It was patented years ago so that ran out long ago.

So if you have a B carb, one of these might be good because the bore on the updraft tube is larger?

The bore is larger in one section of it, but that's to accommodate the spiral gizmo that's supposed to provide the fuel economy. No actual flow improvement.
