holley 94
What is the point of blocking off the power valve on a Holley 94?

When running multiple carbs, one power valve is sufficient.

Re: holley 94
I still run all 3. Makes for a more even fuel distribution to all cylinders.

Ok a fellow I know blocked off both carbs. I thought there might have some benefit.

Re: holley 94
Except for systems specified mostly for competition, power valves should be used. Blocked power valve carbs provide proper A/F ratio only at wide open throttle.

Re: holley 94
I build 2x2's with and without PV's. Technically I agree PV's are there for upper end
enrichment. With 3x2's my setups have a PV in the center carb. Much of my multi carb work goes thousands of miles away and must be reliable. In reality these cars are street driven between 30 and 70 mph. Another challenge is the true condition of the motors my setups will be going on. My bottom line is a happy customer and I have found that what works best all around for 2x2's is to run 52 jets with blocked PV's. Slightly rich on the low end and slightly lean up high. I explain these points to prospective customers and we have an understanding. There are quite a few here that are running my multi carb setups and some input from them I certainly encourage. I overwhelmingly respect all opinions on this. Charlie ny |
