Default Throttle Linkage "too short"

The throttle linkage on my 39 does not provide enough travel to get full throttle from the carb. Are there different lengths of rods that connect to the carb ? What's the solution? Your help is much appreciated.

It is possible to perhaps get a longer linkage. Standard is around 10.5 inch.
I have one which I can adjust as both ends fit into a centre threaded section which allows correct length to be found for full throttle position. Or you can perhaps after careful measurement cut the rod and add required extension as to give full travel

Could you cut the rod, thread it and add a coupler as shown here?
The coupler is easy to make if you have a drill and tap and die.
This has been working fine for last 15 years.

I have an adjustable one like Phil described on my '51 Ford. I think all 8BA's had them.

Should be able to purchase a couple that would work at a hardware store and then thread the rods to match it.

As indicated above, the standard accelerator rod is about 10.5" (10.06" from center lines of holes). If you have a V8-60 then it would be 8.44" from center lines of holes.

I have an adjustable one on the truck. Threading the rod was a cake-walk.
Finding a coupling nut was a bit more difficult.....
