to anyone that gets this- if you have to go to the hospital, whatever you do- DO NOT LAY FLAT.

this turns into pneumonia and so much harder for the body to fight.

Also, if you suspect COVID, get tested asap. If positive insist on getting one of the monoclonal treatments. Don't let them send you home and tell you to come back if you get worse.

If you have Omicron, only one of the monoclonal antibodies works against it and it's in short supply. Also, just because you test positive doesn't mean that you are going to need significant treatment. Once you go into the hospital, it's another story. Hopefully the new pill for Covid from Pfizer will be widely available soon so you really can take pills and go home.

I assume quite a few reading this may be high risk, +65. Omicron is not as severe as Delta and may actually contribute to natural immunity. Just because the antibodies are in short supply doesn't mean you shoudn't ask. My point was not to be timid and just take whatever you are told at face value. One person I know got sick and the doctor sent him home with Benadryl. He got worse and finally drove 65 miles and was given the monoclonal treatment. He recovered in 2 days.
