Default DIY upholstery

Working to reupholster the seat and seat back on my 29 coupe and wondering about the correct height for the front edge of the seat. Have put a new cover, padding etc on the springs and wooden frame and height is now roughly 7". I compressed the springs as best I could while putting on the homemade cover. Looks pretty good. Not a show car by any means, I just want to be able to drive it.
