50/50 antifreeze and Water Wetter
So I now have a new radiator, new motor, new water pumps from Skip.
Should I use 50/50 antifreeze or straight stuff and buy distilled water? Anyone use the Water Wetter stuff and does it really work? Which antifreeze is best to go with the aluminum heads? Steve in Denver

here in the south, water wetter is good for about 10% down, 2 bottles water wetter, 50/50 mix and go for it. with skips pumps, and the above my 40 wagon runs cool even on the hottest days. Thanks Skip!

Steve, Most (all?) modern coolant / anti-freeze is corrosion resistant. Just think how many modern cars have engines that are comprised of a LOT of aluminum.
I'd suggest you purchase a name brand - the "pink stuff" preferably. Do not use more than a 50/50 solution as you will note (with a bit of research) that stronger solutions typically protect less.

Re: 50/50 antifreeze and Water Wetter
Be sure not to mix traditional ethylene glycol with any other antifreeze as it will turn to "goo". I use Dexcool and add "No Rosion" for my aluminum heads. 20 years and no problems. Check your coolant PH every 6 months.

This is very good advice!

Either Water Wetter works or it doesn’t hurt. I’ve always used a bottle of it when I replace the antifreeze. And I used to live in Chicago with a good mix of cold and hot weather.

"Water Wetter" is intended for use in a water only cooling system, for example when track regulations prohibit glycol coolant. I can't really see any need or benefit in normal applications when using engine coolant.
