Default Rear Main Oil Seals

What is the advantage of using a Graphtite rear seal over the one supplied in my Felpro gasket set. Does it provide a better seal-?

THANKS Mike

Both seal the same. Using the graphite the only advantage is there's less seal drag on the crankshaft compared to the rope version supplied in most gasket sets.

Graphite will help with some gain. Were using lip seals now there definitely better for HP gains.

Hey Ronnie - what modern "lip seal" are you using and did you have to do any special machine work in the stock "seal plates" (59x blocks). Also, have you done this for 39-48 engines or later? Thanks as always!
