Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options
Well fellas, I dont think the purchase of that car is going to happen. The seller reached out and said he had a lot of interest and he was going to sell it for around the listed price. Unfortunately as we all discussed $2K was too much and I lack the resources to get that car up and running in a decent amount of time. Thank you all for your input and help you're the most helpful car community I've seen and I'll be hanging around to learn more and I will buy a flathead Ford in the future.

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options
You choose wisely. I encourage you to continue to look for a 46-48 Ford. You'll find one that is ready to drive for a good price. The market is soft and these 46-48 fords are affordable to get into for a new V8 guy or gal. I'm convinced you can find a nice driver tudor for $10K and you can enjoy it immediately.

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options
Kyle,
If it wasn’t for the freight, there’s a nice 47Tudor up here for sale. Could be had very reasonably. I know the elderly lady that owns it. Sometimes trucks/trailers leave here and head to Washington state empty and Transport could be had for the price of gas. |

That sure is a strange lens on that camera. Makes the suspension/ fenders look goofy as hell! DD |

The picture has some pretty good warps in it (look at the bottom edge).

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options
Then there is the old question about if a 1940 or 41 pick up could have come from the tractors with steering column shift.
Some have reported to have seen them. It is my opinion that the first Ford pickup with column shift was the 1951 F1 with light duty transmission. I have one. The heavy duty 3 speed was still floor shift. |

Re: 1947 Ford Super Deluxe options
It’s a picture of a picture, been hanging in my shop wall for about 15 years. The first picture is after I got finished with the driver side front fender. Gentleman that owned it got in a little accident with his wife Towing him. Tow rope caught the brake line ripped it off and of course he hit her truck with the fender. So I did the body and paint work for him. Really tough matching up the older paint as you can see.
