Another 30-30 roadster question

Getting ready to assemble the seat backrest wood and need to know which way the three vertical wood supports go. I assume the tapered notch goes to the top but have seen pictures of it both ways. The square notch end has two holes and I'm thinking one is for attaching to the L bracket and the other hole is for a screw to the bottom horizontal wood. Thanks
