Default Galaxie 289 second oil pressure port?

Does the 289 engine have an 2nd oil port to install a direct pressure oil gauge. Or, do I have to install a brass fitting to "T" off? Thanks Rob

There's one right behind the intake manifold at the back of the engine that I always use for direct oil pressure (most of the Ford motors from the 60s have the same spot) and there's one up front that the factory used with a hex nipple and electric oil pressure sender. The one on the front is on the driver's side, just up from the oil filter.

If you have troubles finding it, I can probably take some pics of one I have out on a stand...

I would say you need a "T". On my 66 - 289, The only plug at the back is to drain the water out of the block and that is down low on the side.

Ok guys, I checked the back of the engine and cannot find a plug to port the oil gauge. I scanned the area with an inspection camera I use to check between walls.

I have never seen an oil galley plug behind the intake either. (Unless you're looking at an orange engine with the distributor at the wrong end!)

I was wondering also.

Wonder if it got confused with the 351C/M-400?

If you're wanting to have both a gauge and a dash lite get a dual sender.
