Looks like an artist rendering of the Business Coupe instead of an actual picture. And, Like Joop said it does get your attention.

Do you have a different picture than me? I see a Town Sedan.

Definitely looks like it was photoshopped or something tho. Shading around the tires looks weird.

Like Joop said, it sure got us talking about it.

If you look closely you can see that the photo was added to the picture . Look through the front passenger side tire and the rear window. JMO

I wondered that but wouldn't the license plate placard appear backwards?

I didn't notice it either. Tom, if the photo was printed backwards the steering wheel would be on the wrong side. The wheel is right, I mean left, I mean, I don't know what I mean.

I thought it might be a RHD car, and they flipped it to put the wheel on the “correct” side.

Well if the car is a right hand drive and you reversed the picture, the wheel would be on the left. Which it is. It does have Canadian bumper clamps. The Snyder's tag is obviously P'shopped in.

Do RHD cars have the horn on the right side? I never thought about it.One thing I did notice in the picture is that I think it has sealed beam adapter rings behind the headlight lenses.

My theory is that it is a Canadian export RHD car maybe in OZ,NZ or South Africa.A flipped picture to get the steering wheel to the left side .Maybe Mr Palmer could tell us .

I think Mr. Endy has it correct. If you look at the Ford oval on the radiator surround, it appears to be flipped.

GeneBob may have the correct clue. It looks like it spells droF. I tried blowing up the photo but it is too blurry to be sure. If anyone has the printed catalog and a good magnifying glass they may be able to tell.

Snyders may have felt that the car looks better on the front cover going from right to left. Another reason to flip it.

This link will show Richard Palmer building his RIGHT HAND DRIVE model A that is on the cover of the catalog.
Google Richard Palmer model A Ford.
Took 5 seconds to figure out the mystery.

Photoshopped: view out the back window doesn't seem to match well with the rest of the background.

Car has been "placed on" the scene.

Picture must be Photochopped. Look at the shading around the wheels and how it appears to be floating on the pavers. Look through the spokes of the front-right tire and there is greenery behind it, where you should see pavers.
On a technical note, there is no hole on the radiator shell left side for the horn conduit. So perhaps the shell is from a RHD vehicle

Got this fro Don:

Hi Steve,
The car was a photo sent to us by one of our customers in South Africa and is actually a right hand drive car. Mike our catalog man here flipped the photo to make it suit the background better which made it a left hand drive car but “unintentionally” put the horn on the wrong side! LOL I completely missed that when I proofed it!

The background which the car was transposed on was taken from the Rose garden in Mill Creek Park in Youngstown, OH.

Thank You,
Don Snyder III

Don Snyder
You took all the fun out of it with your practical explanation. I liked the theory of the "floating" model A. Either an extraterrestial or Model A equipped with flubber!

Oh, did I mention I liked your new catalog format?

Thank you

The car has a reproduction radiator shell and some person making the shell made a mistake when making the shell. He put the hole for horn conduit on the right side by mistake. That shell was sold for half price and the car owner received a bargain.

Obviously the correct solution, I dunno why the previous 30 people didn’t think of it.

Actually, it would make sense to put the horn on the left hand side of the car for a left hand drive because that is where the horn wire is coming from. But then it would require making and stocking a left hand radiator shell.

I for one think it is a lovely depiction of the Model A in a springtime environment, despite the minor inconsistencies. Perfect for the catalog cover. If any of you chuckleheads think you can do a better job, I'm sure Don will consider your submissions for next year's cover.

But it is on the left side and they do make a left hand radiator shell. Did you mean right hand?
