Default Slant Door Window Regulator Handle Gut Picture

I was ask for this on PM but you can't send picts. I am sure more than one person will be interesting anyway.

This is what is inside the cover for the shaft that the handle attaches to. What you are seeing is a clutch mechanism. When the handle turns it causes the spring to wind a bit to get smaller. When the weight of the window causes the shaft to turn the spring gets larger in diameter and brakes against the cover.

The stamped steel part that spring catches and the tines that go into the gear tend to break. The thin stamped one is most likely to break. Some are broke beyond repair and the parts houses have repair parts. They are not cheap, but these regulators are tough to find and not cheap. I ended up taking a apart a passenger side to get good parts for the drivers side.
