Default Correct gascolator for mid-30 Coupe

I have a mid-June 1930 Coupe. It has a cast-iron gascolator, and I have been unable to determine if this is the correct type for this car. The photos I've seen of similar Coupes are equipped with a glass bowl type.

I have looked in the judging standards, and it sounds like either type could be correct. Please advise if I've interpreted this right.

Thanks

I think you're right on.

The aluminum with glass bowl fuel filter was more commonly used by 1930, but I have seen cast iron filters on a 1930 car before.

Were this a 1928 I would guess that ALL the factory fuel filters were cast iron. In 1929 perhaps half or maybe 2/3rds. By 1930 less than a quarter or even 1/10th. And 1931 almost non-existent.

Thanks. I'll leave it alone for now, altho I prefer the glass bowl type.

Here is what the 2011 Guidelines say:
The glass type sediment bowl was used in full production from August 1929 through January 1931. The sediment bowl head was an unpolished zinc die casting. The clamp assembly (bail) was cadmium plated.

So you can o ahead and change it.

I have a early round speedometer coupe and it has the glass bowl type
