Default Adapting an A engine to a B transmission question.

How would I adapt an A engine to a B transmission? I know that I could adapt an A flywheel housing to a V8 transmission using an adapter. But is there another way, with stock parts?

The B pan does not fit the smaller A rear main cap. Waaaaay too much work to close that gap than the use of a V8 trans where an adapter is available and can use the same improved gears. Good Luck: Fred A

I simply use a B engine. I know that's not helpful, but it works.

The B bell housing will bolt to the A block, and the B trans to that. Sounds easy? You are just getting started. The B housing is only a 180 degree piece so you will have a big gap at the bottom half of the flywheel plus you have now lost the A motor mount pads evfen though the B pads look the same, they are not. e-mail me at [email protected] and I will send you an article explaining all the ins and outs.
