Found my Holy Grail
Well actually 2…
I’ve been searching the swap meets, forums, eBay etc for several years looking for the stainless trim that goes to the hand crank hole on my ‘37 Model 79. My grille is really nice and was only lacking that piece of trim. Last spring at the Monroe WA swap meet I was telling my buddy that I needed to find that piece. I no sooner than said it and a guy walks around the side of a tent and says “I have that”. I confirmed he knew what I was talking about and we exchanged numbers. Lost my phone and all contacts soon after that. Fast forward to last weekend, and as I as walking thru the gates at the Puyallup WA swap meet I get a call from an Oregon number. It’s him! He asked if I still needed it and said he was only 50 feet inside the gates and had brought it with him. I forgot that I had mentioned I wanted a nice radiator cap too…he had both! What a great way to start your swap meet day!😎 Karma…can be your friend. Thanks Brian, if you’re on here. |

Re: Found my Holy Grail
X2, it’s the personal connections from swap meets that makes this hobby enjoyable for me.

Re: Found my Holy Grail
I like SOME stuff that I hear, too. I recently heard that you now own one of those funny-looking Zora Duntov, SBC replacement flathead motors. Any truth in that? Coop |

Re: Found my Holy Grail
Ha ha, yep Coop! It drives like a warmed up sbf or sbc. And if I REALLY wanted to twist some tails, I could use one of those flathead to brand x trans adapters to install it in a 55 brand x, but I like it right where it is now!!
Have to make room before I bring it home. |
